Hasil: Ekstrak daun sirsak memiliki efek perbaikan kadar glukosa darah pada tikus wistar diabetik yang diinduksi aloksan dan kelompok ekstrak 800 mg memiliki efek penurunan kadar glukosa darah yang paling besar, dengan rata-rata penurunan nya 50,72 mg/dl, namun penurunannya tidak berbeda secara signifikan dengan kelompok glibenklamid.

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease with the characteristics of chronic hyperglycemia and disturbances of the carbohydrates, fats, and proteins metabolism. Therapies using synthetic drugs required not a small cost and caused side effects which began to drive people to switch and use traditional medicine.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the effect of Soursop leaves (Annonamuricata) towards the improvement of blood glucose levels and determine the effective dose of soursop leaf extract as an anti-diabetic.

Method: The experimental research laboratories pre-test and post-test with control group design, sample amounts were 30 rats, using alloxan to induce diabetic, and glucose levels were determined by the Glucose Oxidase-Phenol 4-Aminoantipirin (GOD-PAP) method, data analysis using 15:00 SPSS for windows.

Results: Soursop leaves extract has the effect of improving blood glucose levels in diabetic Wistar rats induced which alloxan and extract 800 mg group had the effect of decreasing blood glucose levels the most, with an average reduction of 50.72 mg / dl, but the declines were no different significantly with the glibenclamide group.
