PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN COPING STRESS TERHADAP TINGKAT STRES PADA MAHASISWA KEDOKTERAN ANGKATAN 2015 PROGRAM STUDI KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS TADULAKO



ABSTRAK
Latar belakang. Stres merupakan suatu keadaan di mana beban yang dirasakan seseorang tidak sepadan dengan kemampuan untuk mengatasi beban tersebut. Dalam hal ini stress sering terjadi pada mahasiswa dengan tingkatan yang berbeda-beda. Stress dapat diatasi dengan cara mengenali jenis stress serta melakukan suatu stategi pertahanan diri terhadap stress yang disebut dengan Coping stress. Pada dasarnya penggunaan Coping stress terbagi atas dua bagian yaitu problem focused coping yang berorientasi pada tindakan untuk menghadapi masalah dan berusaha menyelesaikannya dan yang kedua yaitu emotional focused coping yang berorientasi tidak mengubah situasi stressful, namun hanya mengubah cara orang memikirkan situasi dan melibatkan elemen penyangkalan diri (denial).
Tujuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan coping stress terhadap tingkat stres pada mahasiswa kedokteran angkatan 2015 Program Studi Kedokteran Universitas Tadulako
Metode. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey analitik dengan menggunakan rancangan Cross Sectional. Jumlah sampel 52 mahasiswa kedokteran angkatan 2014 yang telah memenuhi syarat yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian kuesioner dan analisis data dengan uji Fisher’s Exact.
Hasil. Hasil analisis univariat distribusi coping stress terbanyak diperoleh (69,2%) mahasiswa dengan emotional focused coping, dan distribusi tingkat stress terbanyak adalah tingkat stress ringan (91,4%). Hasil uji bivariat diperoleh nilai p = 0,653.
Kesimpulan. Tidak terdapat pengaruh coping stress terhadap tingkat stres pada mahasiswa kedokteran angkatan 2015 program studi kedokteran Universitas Tadulako.

EFFECT OF COPING STRESS TO THE STRESS LEVEL IN MEDICAL STUDENTS OF MEDICAL STUDIES PROGRAM CLASS OF 2015 TADULAKO UNIVERSITY

ABSTRACT
Background. Stress is a condition where someone feels the burden not commensurate with the ability to overcome with the responsibility. In this case the stress often occur in students with different grade. Stress can be solved by identifying the type of stress as well as perform a stress self-defense strategy called Coping stress. Basically the use of Coping stress is divided into two parts, namely the problem focused coping oriented to the action to faced the problem and tried to solve it and the second is emotional focused coping oriented not to change the stressful situation, but only changed the people way of think of situations and to involve of self-denial.
Purpose. The research was conducted to determine the effect of coping stress to the stress level in medical students of Medical Studies Program class of 2015 Tadulako University
Method. This research is analytic survey using cross sectional design. Total sample of 52 medical students in 2014 grade and has been qualified with the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The data collection using questionnaire research instruments and the data analysis with Fisher's Exact test.
Results. The results of the univariate analysis of the distribution of the highest coping stress obtained (69.2%) of students with emotional focused coping, and distribution of the highest stress level is the mild level of stress (91.4%). Bivariate test results obtained by the value of p = 0.653.
Conclusion. There is no effect of stressors on stress coping in medical students in 2015 grade of Tadulako University medical study program.
