xvi,57hlm;29cm ABSTRACT Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of several infectious diseases that became the world foremost health problems of developing countries. By relying on WHO’s laboratory criteria, thrombocytopenia and leakage of plasma with hemoconcentration are indicators of the severity of the DHF. But some cases do not meet the clinical criteria of WHO and the symptoms are not typical in most of cases. To find out the possibility of shifting the laboratory criteria of DHF, authors interested to conduct research assess relationship between platelet count and hematocrite with the degree of DHF. Methods: The research was carried out using the method of cross sectional analysis. Simple random sampling is used to get 94 samples. The number of people who research 94 samples retrieved from medical record in RSU Anutapura Palu accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Relationship between platelets count and the clinical degree of DHF analysis by Spearman correlation. Spearman correlation values (r) of -0.529 its mean that correlation is negative with moderate strength correlation (0,400 - 0,599). And the relationship between hematocrite count and the clinical degree of DHF analysis by Spearman correlation values (r) of 0.345 its mean that correlation is positive with weak correlation (0.20 - 0.399). Conclusion: There is a significant association between platelet counts and hematocrite with degrees of DHF although weak to moderate strength relationship.
