Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan kasus kematian akibat ISPA terbanyak. Prevalensi ISPA di Sulawesi Tengah menurut Riskesdas 2013 adalah sebesar 23,6 % dan penyakit ISPA merupakan salah satu dari 10 besar penyakit terbanyak yang diderita pasien di ruang rawat inap anak RSU Anutapura Palu selama tiga tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR), pemberian ASI eksklusif, dan asupan vitamin A dengan kejadian ISPA pada anak balita di Rumah Sakit Umum Anutapura Palu. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain rancangan cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah anak balita usia 6-59 bulan sebanyak 64 orang yang diambil secara accidental. Hasil penelitian diuji secara statistik dengan uji Chi-square pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% menggunakan program software komputer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BBLR (ρ =0,003) dan pemberian ASI eksklusif (ρ =0,004) berhubungan dengan kejadian ISPA, sedangkan asupan vitamin A (ρ =0,249) tidak berhubungan dengan kejadian ISPA pada anak balita. Perlunya program edukasi bagi ibu tentang pentingnya pemberian ASI secara eksklusif serta kerja sama masyarakat dengan petugas kesehatan terkait untuk mencegah kejadian BBLR sebagai salah satu faktor risiko ISPA. Indonesia is one of the countries with the most case of death by ISPA. ISPA prevalence of Central Sulawesi according to Riskesdas 2013 is 23.6% and ISPA disease is one of ten diseases suffered by patients in children’s intensive care unit of Public Hospital of Anutapura for the last three years. This research aims to find out the relationship beetwen low birth weight, exclusive breast feeding giving and vitamin a intake with ISPA disease incidence in public hospital of Anutapura Palu. It employed cross sectional design. The sample was 64 children under five years old ages 6-59 months selected accidentally. The reasearch result was examined statistically by using Chi-square test on the significance level of 95% with computer software program. The research result indicates that low birth weight (ρ=0.003) and exclusive Breast Feeding giving (ρ=0.004) relates to ISPA incidence whereas Vitamin A intake (ρ=0.249) did not relate to ISPA of the children under five years old. It needs to have a educative program for mothers concerning the importance of the giving of exclusive Breast Feeding and partnership of society with related health officers to prevent low birth weight as one of factors of ISPA risk.
