Kebiasaan remaja yang sulit dihindari ialah merokok, kebiasaan merokok pada remaja dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, antara lain karena masa perkembangan anak yang mencari identitas diri dan selalu ingin mencoba hal baru yang ada di lingkungannya. Perilaku siswa juga mempengaruhi kebiasaan merokok di lingkungan sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku dan kebijakan dengan kebiasaan merokok pada siswa kelas VII dan VIII di SMP Negeri 5 Palu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey analitik dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional study. Jumlah sampel yaitu 60 responden dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. Analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis univariat dan bivariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan kebiasaan merokok siswa (ρ = 0,000), tidak ada hubungan sikap dengan kebiasaan merokok (ρ = 0,235), ada hubungan tindakan dengan kebiasaan merokok (ρ = 0,007), dan ada hubungan kebijakan dengan kebiasaan merokok (ρ = 0,000). Pengawasan terhadap siswa oleh guru maupun orang tua sangat penting dalam mengontrol agar tidak merokok dan mempertegas aturan merokok bagi siswa dan guru untuk tidak merokok di lingkungan sekolah, serta mengantisipasi akibat lingkungan dan meningkatkan kegiatan untuk pencegahan merokok siswa.

The habitual of young people that is difficult to avoid is smoking. Smoking habitual of young people can be influence by some factors such as children development that search the self identity and always want to try the new habit in the environment. The behavior of students also influence the smoking habitual in the school environment. The purpose of this research was to know the behavior and wisdom relation with the smoking habitual of students in the Seventh grade and the Eighth grade at SMP Negeri 5 Palu. The kind of this research that is used was analytical survey which used cross sectional study approach. The total sample were 60 respondent that the technique sampling used Proportional Stratefied Random Sampling. The analysis that is used in this research were Univariat analysis and Bivariat analysis. The results of this research showed that they had relation between knowledgement with the smoking habitual students (p = 0,000), they didn’t have relation between behavior with smoking habitual (p = 0.235), they had relation between action and smoking habitual (p = 0,007), and they had the relation between wisdom with smoking habitual (p = 0,000). The control of students by the teacher or their parents is very important to control in order that they don’t smoke and affirms the smoking rules for the students and teacher to not smoke in school environment, along with to anticipate consiquence and increase the activity to prevent the habitual smoking students.
