ABSTRACT

Background: Typhoid fever is a disease caused by Salmonella typhi. The disease is common health problem in many parts of the world, especially in developing countries. Salmonella thypi bacteria infection can occur directly or indirectly. One of the factor causing typhoid fever are food type and individual characteristics.
Objectives: This study aimed to determine the correlation between foodborne disease and incidence of typhoid fever in 2012 and 2013 students of medical science programe, faculty of medicine and health science Universitas Tadulako.
Methods: The research method used analytic observational study by case control design. The type of data research used primary data. Data analysis methods include the analysis of univariate and bivariate analysis (chi-square test). The result of chi square test analysis showed there is a correlation in which the value of P
