xv , 55 hlm ; 29 cm ABSTRACT Background. Maternal Mortality Rate is one indicator that is sensitive towards the quality and accessibility of health care facilities. One effort to reduce that number is by the event of antenatal care. Antenatal care is an activity towards the mother during the pregnancy process or before birth. Good antenatal care and the availability of a referral facility for high risk cases can decrease MMR. Knowledge is the notice of someone through sensing towards an object through the senses they have. Attitude is a reaction or response that is still closed from someone towards a stimulus or a particular object. Objective. The objective of this research was to understand the comparison between pregnant women’s knowledge and attitude towards antenatal care before and after health education at sangurara public health center palu. Method. This study was quasi experiment design research (one group pre testpost test). The sample were70 people in total who are qualified in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by Wilcoxon test Result. The result analysis of univariate frequency distribution shows that the characteristics of respondentsare; according to age is 20-24 years old (34,3%), high school graduates (40%), Housewife (67,1%), gravidum 1 (25%), Knowledge before the counseling is good (84,3%) and knowledge after counseling that is good (100%), attitude before counseling that is positive (84,3%) and attitude after counseling that is positive (97,1%).
