xiv , 39 hlm ; 29 cm ABSTRACT Background: During the puberty period, the physical growth occurs relatively in a rapid process in adolescence, which includes the growth and maturity of reproduction organ. One of the signs of the process is the occurence of the first mentruation/ menarche. Over the past few years, the menarche age has shifted to a youngers. Variety of menarche age is influenced by various factors, one of which is nutritional status. The aim of this study is to understand the correlation between the nutritional status level with occurence of menarche of female students seventh grade in junior high school Al-Azhar in Palu in 2016. Methods: This research used cross sectional study with sample amount 105 female students with sample collection by proportional stratified random sampling. The respondents will fill in the informed consent and the questionnaire than will be measured its anthropometric. Data analysis is by Chi-Square test. Result: The result of the Chi-Square test, showed that the correlation between the nutritional status level with occurence of menarche of female students seventh grade in junior high school Al-Azhar in Palu in 2016 with p-value (0,002) < α (0,05). From the result this analysis showed a significant correlation. Conclussion: Based on this study it can be concluded that there is a positive the correlation between the nutritional status level with occurence of menarche of female students seventh grade in junior high school Al-Azhar in Palu in 2016. Kurun waktu beberapa tahun terakhir ini usia menarche telah bergeser ke usia yang lebih muda. Variasi usia menarche di pengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya status gizi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara status gizi dengan kejadian menarche pada siswi kelas VII di sekolah menengah pertama swasta Al-Azhar Palu tahun 2016. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan studi cross sectional dengan sampel sebanyak 105 siswi dengan metode pengambilan proportional stratified random sampling. Responden akan mengisi informed consent dan kuisioner dan dilakukan pengukuran antropometri. Data akan dianalisa dengan uji Chi-Square. Hasil: Hasil uji Chi-Square menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara status gizi dengan kejadian menarche pada siswi kelas VII sekolah menengah pertama Al-azhar Palu tahun 2016 dengan nilai p-value (0,002)< α (0,05). Dari hasil analisa tersebut menunjukan hubungan yang signifikan. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan positif antara status gizi dengan kejadian menarche pada siswi kelas VII di sekolah menengah pertama Swast Al-azhar Palu tahun 2016.
