 <note>ABSTRAK&#13;
Latar Belakang: Penyakit infeksi merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh&#13;
mikroorganisme yang menimbulkan kerusakan atau gangguan fungsi jaringan.&#13;
Salah satu penyebab infeksi adalah bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, bakteri ini&#13;
dapat menyebabkan pioderma. Staphylococcus aureus merupakan flora normal&#13;
pada kulit, saluran pernapasan dan saluran pencernaan, bakteri ini dapat menjadi&#13;
patogen bila jumlahnya meningkat. Salah satu tanaman buah yang berpotensi&#13;
mengatasi patogenitas bakteri S. aureus adalah daun pepaya (Carica papaya),&#13;
karena mengandung senyawa antibakteri seperti flavonoid, saponin dan alkaloid.&#13;
Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui efektivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun pepaya (Carica&#13;
papaya. L) terhadap pertumbuhan S.aureus.&#13;
Metode: Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian eksperimental laboratorium posttest&#13;
only control group. Uji daya hambat bakteri menggunakan metode difusi,&#13;
ekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi. Dimana peneliti melakukan pengamatan&#13;
terhadap kelompok kontrol (tetrasiklin kontrol positif dan NA-CMC kontrol&#13;
negatif) dan kelompok perlakuan setelah diberikan intervensi. Data yang&#13;
diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisa dengan uji One Way ANOVA dilanjutkan dengan&#13;
Post Hoc Test Least significant Difference.&#13;
Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun pepaya (Carica papaya.&#13;
L) memiliki daya hambat terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, diameter zona&#13;
hambat pada konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100% diperoleh zona hambat&#13;
masing – masing 10,55 mm, 13,16 mm, 15,27 mm dan 18,27 mm. Kontrol positif&#13;
diperoleh zona hambat 32,55 mm, sedangkan kontrol negatif tidak menunjukkan&#13;
adanya hambatan terhadap masing-masing replikasi. Berdasarkan hasil uji One&#13;
Way ANOVA terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna pada lebih dari dua kelompok uji&#13;
(p=0,000).&#13;
Kesimpulan: Pada eksperimen ekstrak daun pepaya (Carica papaya) memiliki&#13;
efektivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.&#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
Background: The Infectious Disease is a disease caused by microorganism&#13;
causing damage OR Impaired tissue function. One of the infectious agent is&#13;
Staphylococcus aureus, bacteria could cause pyoderma. Staphylococcus aureus is&#13;
a normal flora in the skin, respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract, This&#13;
bacteria becomes pathogen if its number increases. One plant which potentially&#13;
overcomes the pathogenicity of S. aureus is papaya (Carica papaya), because it&#13;
contains antibacterial compounds such as flavonoids, saponins and alkaloids.&#13;
Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of antibacterial extract of papaya&#13;
(Carica papaya) on the growth of S. aureus.&#13;
Methods : This Research was laboratory experimental post-test only control&#13;
group. The test of inhibition Method we used was Diffusion, extraction was using&#13;
maceration method. While researcher observed the control group (positive&#13;
control of tetracycline and negative control of Na-CMC) and treatment group has&#13;
given an intervention. The data was analyzed with One Way ANOVA test that&#13;
followed with a Post Hoc Test Least significant difference.&#13;
Results: The result showed that the extract of papaya leaf ( Carica papay. L) has&#13;
inhibition effect for Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, the inhibition of zone&#13;
diameter concentration of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% each has 10.55 mm, 13.16&#13;
mm, 15.27 mm and 18.27 mm. Positive controls obtained inhibitory zone 32.55&#13;
mm, whereas the negative control does not indicate constraints to each&#13;
replication. Based on the results of One Way ANOVA test findings are significant&#13;
differences in More Than prayers test group (p = 0.000).&#13;
Conclusion: In experimental papaya extract (Carica papaya) has antibacterial&#13;
effect against Staphylococcus aureus.&#13;
